The word Tan translates as expansion and tra means tool. It is expansion on an energetic, psychological and physical level. Going back thousands of years, Tantra has been used as a tool to expand the boundaries of consciousness. Harmonizing life energies, resolving conflicts and contradictions, tantra allows us to experience life as a flow of intense energy. Letting go of emotional, mental and cultural conditioning. Through putting into practice the tantric techniques we can rekindle a lust for life encouraging a more vibrant sense of self and inner harmony. Tantric philosophy teaches us that everything is to be experienced playfully, yet with awareness and a sense of sacredness in every gesture, every sensory perception and action. 

Taoism originated in China. It can be traced back to Shamanic practices of ancient China around 5000BC. Whilst difficult to define, it is generally agreed that Taoism is a way of being. It is acknowledging that all is one in the universe.
A well known recognizable symbol of Taoism is the Yin/yan. This represents the balance of opposites in the universe and how they work in harmony. Taoists also use meditation and chi gong to help cultivate health and longevity and to circulate internal energy referred to as chi.

Taoism helps to bring a grounding and focusing element to our Tantric practices. Its influences provide a gentle respectful approach to our sessions.
